Well … the first impression is more than acceptable. It´s a very good help for multibooters … no doubt about it. Sure … it will be better once it get a bit more polished and you implement your future improvement plans. Eitherway … thank you very much guys and congrats. Good job !!

Finally, ext4 support has come. From now on, I don’t have to mind creating ext4 partitions. Thank the developers, including Bo Branten and Matt Wu.

Thanks for the update. However, I’m experiencing a problem with my EXT4 partition. Ext2Fsd volume manager still shows it as EXT3 and only shows top level directories. Did I miss something here?

If possible, please boot into Linux and do a “tune2fs -l” with your linux volume. Then mail me the results. Thanks.

When I try to copy a couple gigs of ~350mb files onto an ext3 partition, 0.50 hangs explorer and anything attempting to list drive letters. I drag and drop, the drive light flares up for a couple secs then goes dark; the copy progress dialog never appears. Shutting down in that state also stalls (after closing everything, leaving the blank background), presumably because the OS (WinXP SP1) can’t cleanly release its devices.
0.48 works fine.

Just want to take a minute to indentify an odd problem we have run into concerning running ext2fsd .50 in conjunction with the drive encryption product called Guardian Edge. Guardian Edge is used to encrypt the system drive of a laptop which is running Windows XP and has ext2fsd installed to run as a service under local SYSTEM security context. We have found that while the ext2fsd service is running, users are unable to log off. The system event log shows an event ID 1073 against the USER32.dll, but the returned message in the log entry is unknow. We have found that if we stop the ext2fsd service, users are able to log off again.

Found the sollution to the logout issue. Just uncheck the option in the service that allows the service to interact with the desktop.

Anyone know why my LaCie USB hard drive almost always will not allow me to safely eject when using Ext2FSD, seems there’s a program running – which I cannot ever manage to find? Any ideas which program this might be on my Windows 7 laptop please?

Appreciating the dedication you put into your blog and in depth information you provide.
It’s great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t
the same unwanted rehashed material. Fantastic read!

After I used this, my external drives(windows partitions) would mount but not be usable from my explorer which would initially show it up in explorer and then go to my computer without it showing on the list

sorry i should have said this was on an xp machine. I cannot 100% link it to this software but it happened after installation, and has not corrected via uninstallation. Is this due to this software ?

I noticed now my seagate external drive seems to show the file system as now RAW. I am not sure what caused the problem but this software may not have caused the problem. Sorry

interesting twist – my seagate expansion drive is recognised as ntfs on my other xp machine and i am assuming ext2fsd is responsible. please advise
